I would advise sticking to 2-3 people max! Some brides will have lots of friends & family who want to be involved in the whole experience, however choosing your wedding dress should be personal to you! It should 100% be about what you want & more importantly - how you feel in your wedding dress! Although most of your friends & family will obviously have good intentions, so many different opinions can make things more difficult for you to choose when really the only opinion you need is your own! With a little guidance ofcourse, and that’s where your bridal stylist comes in handy! 

The people that you should bring to your appointment are the people (or person) that knows you the best! Think of someone that you whole heartadly trust to be honest yet supportive at the same time! The ones who have your back & want the best for you! Those are the people you want by your side when saying yes to the most important dress of your life!

Around 12-18 months befor your wedding date would be the perfect time to start thinking about your dream wedding dress! Some bridal gowns can take 6-9 months to be made and shipped to store & then you will usually need to allow 8-12 weeks for alterations to be made to your dress to make sure that your dress fits to perfection -  so it’s always best to try to be well prepared and start trying on dresses early to find out what styles best suit you & make you feel the most comfortable. This way you have plenty of time to find ’the one’ without feeling too much pressure which can also ruin your experience altogether!

 Ofcourse, some brides do indeed try only 2or 3 dresses on and find the one straight away, however some do take a while to find exactly what it is they’re looking for so mh advice- start early.  That said - do not panic if you have left it a little late then we always have dresses ready to go on our off the peg rail! Kayleigh can work her magic with your alterations to make sure your dress is fitting perfectly and finished in time for your special day so don’t think that it’s game over and go and panic buy a dress that you don’t even like just because you think you’re running out of time! We got you covered! We’ve had brides buying their dresses just weeks befor their wedding dates previously, we can help!

Venue! What sort of bridal gown will suit your venue? For example a barn wedding may suit something more boho, a floaty lace little number and a Church wedding may suit something more traditional such as a satin A-line gown. If you’re jetting off to Vegas then you may find a more trendy approach would be better fitting such as a cute little mini dress or even a jumpsuit!

 A bigger venue or isle will accommodate a fuller style gown while a smaller venue may need something more fitted to make things more manageable… How you feel in the dress is also very important , it’s all well and good everyone saying you look amazing but if you don’t feel it well its just going to impact on your day- you have to go with your own feelings here!  

Also very important to consider budget! It Is important to set yourself a maximum budget, this will enable your bridal consultant to offer you the best gowns for you within your price range and avoid any that would be outside of this. Definitely give it some thought prior to booking appointments. Our dresses range from £1200. - £2500 for new to order gowns and we have off the peg dresses starting at £499 - £1100.

Usually with all new to order gowns you can pay in full or you can pay 50% on saying yes to your dream dress, then the remaining balance can be paid either monthly (over 4 months) or when your dress arrives in store.

With Off The Peg Gowns we prefer you to pay in full and take away the same day as we have limited storage. However if you are unable to pay in full please do let us know and we will discuss payment plan options.

Payment can be made via bank transfer, cash, bank or credit card. We can also send over payment links to pay online if this is easier for you!

We are a small boutique with around 100 bridal gowns currently ranging in sizes 8 - 22. We have a handful of our best selling gowns in 18-22 with the majority of our gowns being between a size 8-18.
If you would like to check before your appointment which sizes and styles we have for you to try on then please do not hesitate to get in touch, that way everyone is best prepared for your appointment. It is also good to remember that often people find that bridal sizes do Tend to run up small so you may need to upsize Slightly.
